Ausley & McMullen, P.A.'s attorneys have extensive experience representing electric, gas, telephone and other utility companies in a broad variety of settings, including state and federal trial and appellate courts, state and federal regulatory agencies and the Florida Legislature.
Our regulatory agency experience includes rate of return proceedings, rulemaking proceedings, proceedings pursuant to the federal Telecommunications Act of 1996, actions regarding certification of carriers, actions involving tariff and pricing disputes and actions by and against carriers regarding a variety of issues related to regulatory rules and statutory regulations. State legislative activities include lobbying on behalf of telecommunications clients on a variety of subjects, including regulatory authority, taxation, municipal franchises and fees and civil and criminal action statutes. We also have experience in litigating antitrust, class actions, highway construction and general commercial litigation and appeals from actions by regulatory agencies.
Collectively, our utility group's attorneys have 75 years of experience and practice almost exclusively in this area. The firm's other attorneys regularly provide skillful support to the group in complex proceedings and litigation, rate cases and legislative matters.
