Magie Ozarowski is Of Counsel with Ausley McMullen and primarily focuses her practice on advising clients on employment matters, and litigation, mediation, and arbitration of disputes regarding employment, contracts, and business disputes. Magie also practices before Florida’s administrative courts in the areas of employment, affordable housing, and regulatory compliance.
Magie has advised clients in matters involving various employment policies, procedures, handbooks, and internal investigations, and has successfully represented clients in wrongful termination claims, employment discrimination and retaliation claims, whistleblower claims, restrictive employment covenants, contract and business disputes, and business tort claims.
Magie first practiced in California, in the areas of mass tort defense and general civil litigation and, after returning to Florida, as litigation counsel for a number of State agencies over the course of 10 years, where she handled both affirmative and defensive administrative and complex civil litigation cases.
As Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Magie’s significant litigation included recoupment of USDA Child Nutrition Programs funds, food safety enforcement actions, hemp regulation, and the misuse of federal renewal energy grant monies. Magie also served as the Chief Attorney for the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, chief litigation counsel at the Department of Financial Services, and as a member of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Office of the Attorney General, investigating allegations of fraud against the Medicaid and Medicare programs, in federal and state False Claims Act actions.
