Patrick Bickford recently wrote an article entitled "How OSHA's 5 Cooperative Programs Can Benefit Employers" for Law 360.

Currently OSHA has five separate cooperative programs which help facilitate a collaborative relationship between industry actors and OSHA for the benefit of America’s workers. These cooperative programs apply to employers and other organizations across all industries and are not specific or solely applicable to the construction industry. OSHA’s five cooperative programs are (1) the Alliance Program, (2) the OSHA Strategic Partnership Program, (3) the Voluntary Protection Programs, (4) the OSHA Challenge Program, and (5) the On-Site Consultation Program’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.
